Truman Bulldog track and field/cross country alumna Danna (Kelly) Herrick finished 12th overall and was the fourth American woman to cross the finish line at the 2017 Boston Marathon.
Herrick finished the course in a time of 2:34.53 competing for her professional team of Hansons-Brooks. She was within 13 minutes of race winner Edna Kiplagat and 11 minutes back of top American Jordan Hasay.
Herrick has competed in two USA Olympic trials marathons. As a member of both the Truman track and cross country teams, She finished third in Division II at the 2009 outdoor championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and holds the Truman school record in the event with a time of 10:58.78. She earned All-America honors with a 24th place showing at the Division II Cross Country Championships in 2008 while also participating in the 2007 championship race.
