A major renovation to Franklin Street, which began in May after classes ended, wrapped up in October, just in time for Homecoming. A median, complete with trees and fencing, was added to the section that runs from Normal to Patterson streets. Along with new pavement, sidewalks and lighting, bicycle lanes were added on each side of the street, and recycled brick was used to create the crosswalks in front of the Student Union Building and the Student Recreation Center.
